AMK Donated 21 Million Riel to Kuntha Bopha Hospital
Phnom Penh: AMK microfinance institution Plc. donated 21 Million Riel to Kuntha Bopha Hospital on December 27, 2016. Donation was led by Mr. Chhun Kosal, brand communication manager of AMK microfinance institution Plc. This donation is to help Cambodian children to have good health as AMK wants to see every children has schooling since children are the person who will build our bight nation in the future.
AMK’s mission is to help large numbers of poor people to improve their livelihood options through the delivery of appropriate and viable microfinance services. At the same time, AMK has set two goals to achieve financial and social. For instance, AMK has recently involved in many social activities such as (1) AMK supported National Environmental Pupil-Drawing Competition under the theme “Think, Act and Develop Together for our Green Country in the Future” which was organized by ministry of Environment and ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. (2) AMK supported as main sponsor for Khmer drama called “Dei Bamnas Thmey” is a drama to educate people about doing effective agriculture, financial management and other significant knowledge related to people daily life. The drama is now airing on MYTV channel. (3) AMK participated planting Kong Kang trees and AMK has also supported many charity and social events.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Chhun Kosal said that “AMK has intensely committed to achieve our social goal to help poor people across the country. From year to year, AMK staff at all level have spent their own money for social and charity events.” He added that “Due to a strong commitment from management and staff, AMK has been recognized as the institution that fully implementing client protection principles by SMART CAMPAIGN.”
AMK is a leading Microfinance Institution in terms of outreach and borrower numbers. As of November 30, 2016, AMK has a total client of over 520,000 with a loan portfolio of around USD150 million. The number of offices have reached 151 and its operations are in over 12,500 villages nationwide. This outreach represents 90% of all villages in Cambodia. AMK is providing variety of financial services including Loan, Deposit, Money Transfer, Micro Insurance, Payment Service, Mobile Banking, Payroll Service, ATMs and CDMs.
