AMK and Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Define Bancassurance Strategy to Enhance Financial Inclusion in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, January 31, 2025: AMK Microfinance Institution and Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company celebrated the 3rd anniversary of their partnership with a strategic meeting under the theme “Strengthening Financial Inclusion through Bancassurance” at the Sun & Moon Riverside Hotel. Since early 2025, the two institutions have been strategic partners for three years and remain dedicated to this long-term collaboration, aiming to expand the reach of Bancassurance services to all customers and the public in Cambodia. This partnership is a proud achievement for Cambodia’s financial services sector. It has continuously provided financial protection to tens of thousands of Cambodian families, reflecting the true spirit of both institutions, improving understanding of life insurance among Cambodians, and contributing to the advancement of the country’s financial Inclusion.

The strategic meeting was convened with three key objectives: to reinforce and expand the long-term partnership between the institutions; to celebrate the accomplishments and milestones achieved over the past year; and to introduce the 2025 strategic plan, which aims to enhance the delivery of innovative financial services and solutions, ensuring greater value for customers.

Despite global economic challenges, both companies have achieved outstanding results. Over the past three years, more than 15,000 customers have been protected through Dai-ichi Life’s life insurance products, with the company providing over US$65.8 million in total insurance coverage. In addition, Dai-ichi Life has provided more than US$100,000 in compensation and refunds to assist customers during times of hardship. This accomplishment underscores the strong commitment of both companies to offering quality, affordable, and accessible financial solutions to Cambodians across the country. The company also presented awards and certificates of appreciation to 47 AMK branches for exceeding their targets.
